About Calliope

Calliope is not only the lovely muse of much epic and metaphysical poetry, nor is she simply the “dismembered” body that appeared to me in a dream on the night of the 12th of March 2003 obliging me to rise from my bed and dash down the lyrics of a song.

Calliope is the living “concept” underscoring this album, the very essence of my way of feeling, exploring, experiencing music, and therefore, life itself.

My Calliope, who descends from Mount Olympus to be raped by seven demons, causes the human race to lose self-recollection and self-awareness, obliges it to rediscover silence, to seek seven previously unheard notes, to witness the birth of a new promise, to embody the voice of tormented, modern, schizophrenic humanity which, like all other journeying souls, is at the mercy of an extenuating play of opposites which reflects and echoes inner pain, the enigma of the multifaceted voices which comprise it, through an ineffable vision of harmony, a heartrending yearning for unity and peace.

Through the songs I write, I try to paint in notes and words a world of emotions, sounds and images, in an attempt to give form to my inner vision which I like to share this others. Life is a journey and we are all pilgrims. I don’t know where I am going. I just go, stumble, fall, pick myself up and resume my journey.”
